# OBC Reader vs Readsy

The clearest difference is review sentiment: OBC Reader at 78% against Readsy's 24%. OBC Reader also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 11) and ads (none vs shown). Readsy's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 2.8) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Readsy sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. OBC Reader asks for nothing beyond the download.

Readsy holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Readsy has 406 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of OBC Reader's written reviews are positive against 24% of Readsy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

OBC Reader ships an update every 2 months, Readsy every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
