# 1Mate vs Sequel

The clearest difference is review sentiment: 1Mate at 100% against Sequel's 20%. 1Mate also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 9) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). Sequel's advantage is ratings volume (410 vs 5). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sequel sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. 1Mate asks for nothing beyond the download.

1Mate holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sequel has 410 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of 1Mate's written reviews are positive against 20% of Sequel's.

1Mate ships an update every 3 weeks, Sequel every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
