# A Basic Girls Guide vs Goalday

The clearest difference is rating: Goalday at 4.6 against A Basic Girls Guide's 3.7. Goalday also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). A Basic Girls Guide's advantage is review sentiment (81% vs 72%) and iOS requirement (14.2 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. A Basic Girls Guide sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month and Goalday sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Goalday holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Goalday has 27 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of A Basic Girls Guide's written reviews are positive against 72% of Goalday's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

A Basic Girls Guide ships an update every 2 months, Goalday every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
