# Building Arcadia vs Cog Hero

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Cog Hero at 67% against Building Arcadia's 23%. Cog Hero also leads on ads (none vs shown). Building Arcadia's advantage is rating (4.2 vs 3.4) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 12 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Building Arcadia sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Cog Hero sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Building Arcadia holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Building Arcadia has 53 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 23% of Building Arcadia's written reviews are positive against 67% of Cog Hero's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Building Arcadia ships an update every 2 months, Cog Hero every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
