# Preview mini vs Feather

The clearest difference is price: Preview mini at Free against Feather's $14.99. Preview mini also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 3 weeks). Feather's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On rating, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Preview mini is free to download; Feather costs $14.99 up front. Preview mini sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Feather asks for nothing beyond the download.

Preview mini holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 212 and 118 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Preview mini's written reviews are positive against 65% of Feather's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Preview mini ships an update every 10 days, Feather every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
