# Linktree vs Roots

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Roots at none against Linktree's 10. Linktree's advantage is ratings volume (63K vs 3) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Linktree sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Roots asks for nothing beyond the download.

Roots holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Linktree has 63K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Linktree ships an update weekly, Roots every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
