# BrainPower vs Brain Training

The clearest difference is ads: Brain Training at none against BrainPower's shown. Brain Training also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months) and rating (4.2 vs 3.8). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BrainPower sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Brain Training sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Brain Training holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brain Training has 1.2K ratings behind it against 38, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 14% of BrainPower's written reviews are positive against 7% of Brain Training's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BrainPower ships an update every 4 months, Brain Training every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
