# Illcurrency vs DashShop

The clearest difference is monetization model: DashShop at free against Illcurrency's paid. DashShop also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 4 months). Illcurrency's advantage is ratings volume (142 vs 2). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Illcurrency against 5.0 for DashShop. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Illcurrency has 142 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Illcurrency ships an update every 4 months, DashShop every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
