# BigBearVPN vs Auto

The clearest difference is rating: Auto at 3.7 against BigBearVPN's 2.8. Auto also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and iOS requirement (13 vs 15.0). BigBearVPN's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (330 vs 19). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BigBearVPN sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Auto asks for nothing beyond the download.

Auto holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BigBearVPN has 330 ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two.

BigBearVPN ships an update every 3 weeks, Auto fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
