# BigBearVPN vs Select

The clearest difference is rating: BigBearVPN at 2.8 against Select's 1.0. BigBearVPN also leads on ratings volume (336 vs 2) and device support (4 vs 2). Select's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BigBearVPN sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Select asks for nothing beyond the download.

BigBearVPN holds the better App Store score, 2.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BigBearVPN has 336 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
