# Caffeine++ vs Sonar

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Caffeine++ at 100% against Sonar's 68%. Caffeine++ also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Sonar's advantage is ratings volume (336 vs 1) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Caffeine++ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Sonar sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Caffeine++ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sonar has 336 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Caffeine++'s written reviews are positive against 68% of Sonar's.

Caffeine++ ships an update monthly, Sonar weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
