# Recon vs SureScan 3D Scanner, 3D App

The clearest difference is rating: Recon at 4.8 against SureScan 3D Scanner, 3D App's 4.4. Recon also leads on ratings volume (277 vs 39). SureScan 3D Scanner, 3D App's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (88% vs 75%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Recon sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $99.99 per month and SureScan 3D Scanner, 3D App sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Recon holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Recon has 277 ratings behind it against 39, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Recon's written reviews are positive against 88% of SureScan 3D Scanner, 3D App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Recon ships an update every 2 months, SureScan 3D Scanner, 3D App every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
