# RoE Handbook vs CastOn

The clearest difference is review sentiment: RoE Handbook at 100% against CastOn's 36%. RoE Handbook also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5). CastOn's advantage is ratings volume (5.6K vs 4) and chart position (#167 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RoE Handbook sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and CastOn sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

RoE Handbook holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CastOn has 5.6K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of RoE Handbook's written reviews are positive against 36% of CastOn's.

RoE Handbook ships an update every 3 weeks, CastOn every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
