# BestCon vs Scrypted

The clearest difference is review sentiment: BestCon at 100% against Scrypted's 33%. BestCon also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.1). Scrypted's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (16 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Scrypted holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scrypted has 16 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of BestCon's written reviews are positive against 33% of Scrypted's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BestCon ships an update fortnightly, Scrypted every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
