# Elele vs needU

The clearest difference is update cadence: needU at every 3 days against Elele's monthly. needU also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Elele's advantage is ratings volume (1.5K vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Elele sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $2.89 per 7 days and needU sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

needU holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Elele has 1.5K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Elele ships an update monthly, needU every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
