# Shadow Hunter vs Afterimage Mobile

The clearest difference is rating: Shadow Hunter at 4.7 against Afterimage Mobile's 4.3. Shadow Hunter also leads on ratings volume (322 vs 25) and price ($4.99 vs $5.99). Afterimage Mobile's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On review sentiment, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Shadow Hunter costs $4.99 and Afterimage Mobile $5.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Shadow Hunter holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shadow Hunter has 322 ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of Shadow Hunter's written reviews are positive against 76% of Afterimage Mobile's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Shadow Hunter ships an update monthly, Afterimage Mobile fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
