# Chereads vs NovelsReader

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Chereads at 55% against NovelsReader's 7%. Chereads also leads on rating (4.5 vs 1.4) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chereads sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and NovelsReader sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chereads holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 1.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chereads has 1.9K ratings behind it against 60, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 55% of Chereads's written reviews are positive against 7% of NovelsReader's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 15, 2026.
