# WifiScan vs SpyTracker

The clearest difference is monetization model: SpyTracker at free with in-app purchases against WifiScan's subscription. SpyTracker also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (861 vs 248). WifiScan's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.4). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WifiScan sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and SpyTracker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WifiScan holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 248 and 861 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of WifiScan's written reviews are positive against 19% of SpyTracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WifiScan ships an update every 2 months, SpyTracker every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
