# MyTypes vs Bamboo

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Bamboo at none against MyTypes's 10. Bamboo also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). MyTypes's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs weekly) and ratings volume (33 vs 4). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MyTypes sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Bamboo asks for nothing beyond the download.

Bamboo holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyTypes has 33 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

MyTypes ships an update every 3 days, Bamboo weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
