# BibleRef vs JesusChat™

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: BibleRef at none against JesusChat™'s 1. BibleRef also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (179 vs 5). JesusChat™'s advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 4 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. JesusChat™ sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per month. BibleRef asks for nothing beyond the download.

JesusChat™ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BibleRef has 179 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 87% of BibleRef's written reviews are positive against 100% of JesusChat™'s.

BibleRef ships an update every 4 months, JesusChat™ every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
