# Font Kitty vs Font Maker

The clearest difference is rating: Font Maker at 4.1 against Font Kitty's 2.5. Font Maker also leads on ratings volume (2.1K vs 6). Font Kitty's advantage is update cadence (every 11 days vs monthly) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs paid). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Font Kitty sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Font Maker sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Font Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Font Maker has 2.1K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Font Kitty's written reviews are positive against 28% of Font Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Font Kitty ships an update every 11 days, Font Maker monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
