# The Simple Journey vs Wellspring

The clearest difference is update cadence: Wellspring at every 3 days against The Simple Journey's every 13 months. The Simple Journey's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Simple Journey sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and Wellspring sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for The Simple Journey against 5.0 for Wellspring. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 10 and 16 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

The Simple Journey ships an update every 13 months, Wellspring every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
