# Countdown vs Pace Clock

The clearest difference is rating: Countdown at 4.7 against Pace Clock's 4.0. Countdown also leads on ratings volume (3.1K vs 1) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Pace Clock's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 82%) and device support (5 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Pace Clock sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Countdown holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown has 3.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Countdown's written reviews are positive against 100% of Pace Clock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Countdown ships an update weekly, Pace Clock every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and September 16, 2026 respectively.
