# Countdown vs Countdown Widget

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Countdown at 3.1K against Countdown Widget's 3. Countdown also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 4 weeks). Countdown Widget's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (100% vs 82%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Countdown Widget sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Countdown Widget holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown has 3.1K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 82% of Countdown's written reviews are positive against 100% of Countdown Widget's.

Countdown ships an update weekly, Countdown Widget every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
