# ChessManual vs ChessFlare

The clearest difference is rating: ChessManual at 5.0 against ChessFlare's 4.3. ChessManual also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 79%) and monetization model (ad-supported vs freemium). ChessFlare's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
