# Adlocked vs ShieldGen

The clearest difference is monetization model: Adlocked at free with in-app purchases against ShieldGen's subscription. Adlocked also leads on ratings volume (1.8K vs 348). ShieldGen's advantage is update cadence (daily vs every 6 days) and review sentiment (85% vs 64%). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Adlocked sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and ShieldGen sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for Adlocked against 4.3 for ShieldGen. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Adlocked has 1.8K ratings behind it against 348, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 64% of Adlocked's written reviews are positive against 85% of ShieldGen's.

Adlocked ships an update every 6 days, ShieldGen daily. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
