# Calculator +ㅤ vs Scientific Calculator

The clearest difference is monetization model: Scientific Calculator at free with in-app purchases against Calculator +ㅤ's subscription. Scientific Calculator also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and review sentiment (67% vs 47%). Calculator +ㅤ's advantage is ratings volume (4.6K vs 5) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calculator +ㅤ sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Scientific Calculator sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.59 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scientific Calculator holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calculator +ㅤ has 4.6K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 47% of Calculator +ㅤ's written reviews are positive against 67% of Scientific Calculator's.

Calculator +ㅤ ships an update fortnightly, Scientific Calculator every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
