# Floating Notepad vs Floathing

The clearest difference is rating: Floathing at 5.0 against Floating Notepad's 3.3. Floathing also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Floating Notepad's advantage is ratings volume (19 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.6). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Floating Notepad sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and Floathing sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.29 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Floathing holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Floating Notepad has 19 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Floating Notepad ships an update every 2 months, Floathing every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
