# Floating Notepad vs Cue

The clearest difference is rating: Cue at 5.0 against Floating Notepad's 3.3. Cue also leads on ads (none vs shown). Floating Notepad's advantage is ratings volume (19 vs 2) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Floating Notepad sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and Cue sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cue holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Floating Notepad has 19 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Floating Notepad ships an update every 2 months, Cue monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
