# Interval Timer vs ExTimer

The clearest difference is ads: Interval Timer at none against ExTimer's shown. Interval Timer also leads on ratings volume (142 vs 4). ExTimer's advantage is update cadence (every 11 days vs every 3 weeks) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Interval Timer sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and ExTimer sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Interval Timer against 5.0 for ExTimer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Interval Timer has 142 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.
