# Calligraphy Master vs Podcast LM

The clearest difference is monetization model: Calligraphy Master at free with in-app purchases against Podcast LM's subscription. Calligraphy Master also leads on review sentiment (34% vs 2%) and ratings volume (2.5K vs 379). Podcast LM's advantage is update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calligraphy Master sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Podcast LM sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for Calligraphy Master against 4.4 for Podcast LM. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calligraphy Master has 2.5K ratings behind it against 379, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 34% of Calligraphy Master's written reviews are positive against 2% of Podcast LM's.

Calligraphy Master ships an update every 3 months, Podcast LM every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
