# Knotwords vs Slide Tap

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Knotwords at 8.1K against Slide Tap's 10. Knotwords also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6). Slide Tap's advantage is review sentiment (86% vs 73%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Knotwords sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per year and Slide Tap sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Knotwords holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Knotwords has 8.1K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of Knotwords's written reviews are positive against 86% of Slide Tap's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Knotwords ships an update every 10 days, Slide Tap fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
