# Video Lite vs Carlover

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Carlover at none against Video Lite's 2. Carlover also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Video Lite's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (173K vs 4). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Video Lite sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Carlover asks for nothing beyond the download.

Carlover holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Video Lite has 173K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Video Lite's written reviews are positive against 50% of Carlover's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Video Lite ships an update every 2 weeks, Carlover every 6 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
