# Video Lite vs ProTube

The clearest difference is monetization model: ProTube at free against Video Lite's free with in-app purchases. ProTube also leads on review sentiment (74% vs 65%). Video Lite's advantage is ratings volume (173K vs 16K). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Video Lite sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and ProTube sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Video Lite against 4.8 for ProTube. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Video Lite has 173K ratings behind it against 16K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 65% of Video Lite's written reviews are positive against 74% of ProTube's.

Video Lite ships an update every 2 weeks, ProTube weekly. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
