# Pre vs Octopus Giggle

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Pre at none against Octopus Giggle's 1. Pre also leads on ratings volume (15 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). Octopus Giggle's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, review sentiment, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Octopus Giggle sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Pre asks for nothing beyond the download.

Octopus Giggle holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pre has 15 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
