# Metro VPN vs Privify

The clearest difference is ads: Privify at none against Metro VPN's shown. Privify also leads on review sentiment (75% vs 50%) and ratings volume (6 vs 2). Metro VPN's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 4 weeks) and rating (4.0 vs 3.7). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Metro VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 6 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Metro VPN's written reviews are positive against 75% of Privify's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Metro VPN ships an update every 2 days, Privify every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
