# JoyNovel vs NovelWolf

JoyNovel and NovelWolf both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 83% of NovelWolf's written reviews are positive against 43% of JoyNovel's. NovelWolf also leads on ratings volume (208 vs 12). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. JoyNovel sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and NovelWolf sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for JoyNovel against 4.5 for NovelWolf. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NovelWolf has 208 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 43% of JoyNovel's written reviews are positive against 83% of NovelWolf's.

JoyNovel ships an update every 2 months, NovelWolf every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
