# Farcaster vs tap.ec

The clearest difference is rating: Farcaster at 4.6 against tap.ec's 3.7. Farcaster also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 9). tap.ec's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 16) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Farcaster sells 16 one-off in-app purchases. tap.ec asks for nothing beyond the download.

Farcaster holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Farcaster has 1.1K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two.
