# Farcaster vs Colonny

The clearest difference is rating: Farcaster at 4.6 against Colonny's 4.0. Farcaster also leads on ratings volume (1.1K vs 13). Colonny's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 16) and review sentiment (60% vs 50%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Farcaster sells 16 one-off in-app purchases. Colonny asks for nothing beyond the download.

Farcaster holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Farcaster has 1.1K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Farcaster's written reviews are positive against 60% of Colonny's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Farcaster ships an update every 5 days, Colonny weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
