# Farcaster vs cPen Network

The clearest difference is ads: Farcaster at none against cPen Network's shown. Farcaster also leads on ratings volume (1.1K vs 250). cPen Network's advantage is review sentiment (74% vs 51%) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Farcaster sells 16 one-off in-app purchases and cPen Network sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Farcaster holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.1K and 250 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of Farcaster's written reviews are positive against 74% of cPen Network's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Farcaster ships an update every 5 days, cPen Network every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
