# Trail Vault vs Destination Transit

The clearest difference is ads: Trail Vault at none against Destination Transit's shown. Trail Vault also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). Destination Transit's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Trail Vault sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Destination Transit sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Trail Vault against 5.0 for Destination Transit. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Destination Transit has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Trail Vault ships an update every 2 weeks, Destination Transit every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
