# BoulderBot vs Sqrls

The clearest difference is update cadence: Sqrls at every 4 days against BoulderBot's every 5 weeks. BoulderBot's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14.1 vs 16.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BoulderBot sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Sqrls sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BoulderBot ships an update every 5 weeks, Sqrls every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on August 30, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
