# OnionShare vs BotRunner

The clearest difference is update cadence: BotRunner at every 2 weeks against OnionShare's every 3 months. BotRunner also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

OnionShare ships an update every 3 months, BotRunner every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
