# Clear Wave vs Wavex

The clearest difference is monetization model: Wavex at free with in-app purchases against Clear Wave's subscription. Wavex also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Clear Wave's advantage is ratings volume (2.4K vs 213). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Clear Wave sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Wavex sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Clear Wave against 4.5 for Wavex. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Clear Wave has 2.4K ratings behind it against 213, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 22% of Clear Wave's written reviews are positive against 14% of Wavex's.

Clear Wave ships an update every 3 weeks, Wavex weekly. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
