# brainy vs FlipFlash

The clearest difference is rating: FlipFlash at 5.0 against brainy's 4.8. FlipFlash also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.6). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. brainy sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and FlipFlash sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FlipFlash holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 31 and 21 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of brainy's written reviews are positive against 88% of FlipFlash's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

brainy ships an update every 2 weeks, FlipFlash every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
