# Typhur vs iGulu

The clearest difference is ads: Typhur at none against iGulu's shown. Typhur also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (7.6K vs 45). iGulu's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Typhur against 4.7 for iGulu. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Typhur has 7.6K ratings behind it against 45, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 62% of Typhur's written reviews are positive against 67% of iGulu's.

Typhur ships an update every 3 weeks, iGulu weekly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
