# focus vs TaskFocus

The clearest difference is rating: TaskFocus at 4.9 against focus's 4.0. TaskFocus also leads on ratings volume (14 vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). focus's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 6 weeks). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. focus sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and TaskFocus sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TaskFocus holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TaskFocus has 14 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

focus ships an update every 8 days, TaskFocus every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 13, 2026 and August 12, 2026 respectively.
