# Hoby Chat vs Mollo

Hoby Chat and Mollo both sit at 3.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 72% of Hoby Chat's written reviews are positive against 8% of Mollo's. On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hoby Chat sells 13 one-off in-app purchases and Mollo sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mollo holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 35 and 18 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of Hoby Chat's written reviews are positive against 8% of Mollo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hoby Chat ships an update fortnightly, Mollo every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
