# QR Code vs Scan QR Code

QR Code and Scan QR Code both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 71% of Scan QR Code's written reviews are positive against 33% of QR Code's. QR Code's advantage is ratings volume (13K vs 654). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. QR Code sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Scan QR Code sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for QR Code against 4.5 for Scan QR Code. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: QR Code has 13K ratings behind it against 654, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 33% of QR Code's written reviews are positive against 71% of Scan QR Code's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
