# Simply Filter SMS vs SPAM

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SPAM at none against Simply Filter SMS's 3. Simply Filter SMS's advantage is review sentiment (81% vs 50%) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 4 months). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simply Filter SMS sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. SPAM asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Simply Filter SMS against 4.4 for SPAM. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simply Filter SMS has 69 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 81% of Simply Filter SMS's written reviews are positive against 50% of SPAM's.

Simply Filter SMS ships an update every 9 days, SPAM every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
